Common Things

Tenor Saxophone
What do these 2 things have in common?

  1. My tenor saxophone I played in my school days.
  2. Old control arm I replaced on my Dodge Truck.

Hint - This is my "Fix It Stop" blog.

Control Arm

I have a TON of projects and ideas of things I want to do. One of my projects is repairing my old saxophone. Im not sure if my idea will work, but that is part of the journey.
Glad I did not take the control arms to the recycle center yet.

Walkway and stones

Stone Work

We had these stepping stone a long time. Earlier this year I finally put them in the ground to make a walkway.

Found a guy on craigslist in the same town giving away some stones. Most of them are thick. Im not exactly sure what I will do with all of them, but the thiner ones will go in the walk way to the back fence.

Porch Swing - part 6

Finished adding the cross slats. Also added 2 more braces in the middle.

Left to do - Add the arms, sand and stain.
Put a chain on it and hang it.

GE radio-phonograph combination-752

Picked up this 50s Console from a neighbor.
I think this will be more my speed on learning how to work on these things.
It is a Tube Radio Amp and Turntable. No circuit boards.

It is a GE radio-phonograph combination-752. One website said it was made in 1950, another said 1952. I will try and get some numbers off the transformers and see if I can find out when they were made.

I will post images and progress on restoring this as I go.

Im not sure when I will get to it, I need to get some more tools and test equipment. I want to make sure I don't make it worse than it is.
I have not plugged it in yet.

Pedal board

Built a small Pedal board for my Dad last year.

He seems Happy with it. He does not have a lot a pedals yet, so it is a good size to move around.

I don't have many pedals yet either.

Porch Swing - part 5

I guess this thing is going to take me a while to finish because of time.

I will keep plugging away at it when I get chances.
I already see improvements I want to make...

CB radios

So I have a number of CB radios that do not work. These 2 do not power on at all.
Figured I would try and fix them, and practice replacing capacitors.

I read, that it might just be a bad diode or something. Im just keeping these stock, just replace parts to see if I can get them to work.

After opening them up and looking, I may need to start with something easier to work on. But these are just junk I have and no valuable.
