Why Didn't I think of that?

Pedal Risers for the Vertically Challenged, or kids.

We found and bought a drum set off of craigslist a year ago. My son had trouble reaching the pedals, even with the thrown adjusted all the way down. The thrown is a cheap one that does not swivel. We were thinking about getting another thrown, but have you priced those things? WOW!

The other day my wife said why don't we raise the pedals? Why didn't I think of that a year ago?

I had him sit on the thrown, while I stacked books to see where his foot rested naturally. Measured the hight of the stacked books (7").

Took the pedals out in the garage grabbed some scrap plywood. Marked the size of the pedals on the plywood, cut it out. Made a base with 2X4.
Then I stacked 2X4' flat to the desired height. I used screws so I can easily take a layer off as he grows.

Nothing special, I will be able to recover all the wood when he out grows the risers.

He really likes them. Easy solution - Cant "beat" that.
